- Never miss a response—if you're offline, replies to your mobile messages will be stored on MSN Messenger until you next log on.
- Send a message to any supported mobile phone.*
Here's how it works: - Sign in to MSN Messenger. You'll need version 7 or higher. Download it here.
- Add a mobile contact. Click Add a contact and select Add a new contact from a mobile phone number.
OR Add a mobile profile to an existing contact. Right click on the contact, and select Add a mobile number for this contact. - Send your message. Open a conversation window with your new mobile contact, type your message, and click Send. The mobile contact will receive the message on his mobile device* and can easily reply. Replies will be sent to your MSN Messenger conversation window.
*Recipients require an SMS-enabled mobile device and may be charged for messages by their wireless carrier. Performance of this feature may vary depending on wireless carrier connectivity or other network limitations. |
| Blocking or Allowing SMS messages on your mobile device from MSN Messenger users When an MSN Messenger user sends an SMS text message to your mobile device for the first time, we will send you a message inviting you to ‘accept’ this user as a mobile contact. You must reply to the message with "A" for accept or "D" for deny. If you accepted a mobile contact and later want to block them: Use your mobile device to send the following text message to your service number, listed below: d username@companyname.com (where "d" is for deny and username@companyname.com is the mobile contact you would like to block.)
If you blocked a mobile contact and later want to allow messages from these users: Use your mobile device to send the following text message to your service number below: a username@companyname.com (where "a" is for accept and username@companyname.com is the mobile contact you would like to add.)
