Use your Microsoft TV powered set-top box to exchange instant messages with friends and family. Integrated into the television experience, MSN Messenger allows you to enjoy watching your favorite show on TV and to trade messages with friends, who could be connected via their TV, computer, smart phone or any other device enabled to work with the .NET Messenger Service.

The typing indicator will show you when one of your friends is responding, and you'll never miss messages from anyone while in a conversation. MSN Messenger has all of these great features and more!

How do I get started?

Please check with your cable or satellite service provider for availability of MSN Messenger on your set-top box. If available, the program should be already integrated, which eliminates the need to download or install new software.

MSN Messenger is simple to enjoy. To get started, follow the on-screen instructions to launch Microsoft TV Messenger. You may be prompted to enter a Microsoft® .NET Passport username and password to sign in to the .NET Messenger Service. If you don't have a Passport account, select the link to quickly and easily create a new Passport account, and use that account to sign in to MSN Messenger. That same account can be used for any other instant messenger application using the .NET Messenger Service.

For set-top box users, a wireless keyboard will make it easier to type messages. But an on-screen keyboard can also be used.

Now you are ready to add friends to your MSN Messenger contact list and try all the different features MSN Messenger offers!
